This is a Great Blue Heron that sometimes makes an appearance in Robesonia, Pennsylvania. On this day I just so happened to be taking photos around the Robesonia Furnace and I stopped to talk to my Nana who lives along the Furnace Creek. We were talking and then I looked up and saw this Heron fly and land right in the middle of the creek. It was pretty far off but I was able to switch lenses and snap off a couple of photos with my telephoto lens. This was the only clear photo I was able to capture because the blasted Heron wouldn’t hold still. This guy has been seen throughout Robesonia for the past couple of years and always like snacking on residents goldfish that people have out in small ponds in their backyards.
The Robesonia Furnace is the only place I have seen a Blue Heron in Berks County, Pennsylvania. I’ve spent plenty of time at Blue Marsh Lake and have never seen any there. I’m sure he stops off their sometimes, but this was the only time I’ve been able to capture one in a photo.
